Growing with Harbor
When Blake first learned his company would become part of Harbor, he had plenty of questions. But what quickly stood out wasn't simply the growth of the business: it was the people behind it.
As Harbor expanded, so did the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from different countries, backgrounds and specialties, creating an environment where learning became part of everyday work.
"It became clear there was a lot of soul behind Harbor. The people are what make it special."
Over the past decade, Blake has watched both the business and his colleagues grow together, building relationships that make every project more meaningful.
"I love what I do because I love the people I get to do it with."
Guiding clients through change
Every law firm is different, and every implementation starts with understanding how people work before introducing new technology.
Blake spends much of his time helping clients rethink their business intake processes, configuring and implementing solutions that support everyone from legal assistants to partners. While the technology matters, he believes empathy is just as important.
"You have to put yourself in the client's position. How would you want this process to feel if you were seeing it for the first time?"
One recent project involved helping a firm adopt Intapp for the very first time. Alongside the technical implementation came the challenge of guiding hundreds of users through unfamiliar systems and processes.
Blake believes the best technology projects begin with understanding people.
"There's as much social engineering as technical engineering. You're helping people feel confident with something that's completely new."
The people part
Ask Blake what he values most about Harbor and his answer is immediate: the people.
Whether collaborating with colleagues across different continents or helping someone solve a challenge on a project, he believes everyone succeeds because knowledge is shared so openly.
"If someone has a problem, go help them. It always comes back around."
That culture has shaped the way Blake approaches his own career. Rather than focusing only on personal goals, he believes the greatest opportunities come from contributing to the success of others.
"I have the opportunity every day to make one of my clients' days better, or one of my colleagues' days better."
For Blake, that's what consulting is really about: helping people navigate change with confidence, knowing they're supported every step of the way.
When he's not working with clients, Blake enjoys one of his favorite parts of consulting—travel. Whether it's visiting a client office or finally meeting colleagues he's collaborated with remotely, he values the chance to build relationships beyond the screen. It's those conversations over dinner after a long day, or catching up in person after months of Teams calls, that remind him why he enjoys consulting as much as he does.
